The Main Intelligence Directorate claims that while the leaders of the unrecognized region are not going to ask dictator Putin for the official "inclusion" in the Russian Federation.

According to the GUR, the separatists of the unrecognized Transnistria do not plan to appeal to the Russian dictator Putin at their congress regarding the “acceptance” of the region into Russian composition.

This was stated by the representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate Andrey Yusov in a commentary to Ukrayinska Pravda.

“According to our data, the information that on February 28 the “authorities” of Transnistria will allegedly ask the Russian Federation to annex them to its composition has not yet been confirmed,” Yusov said.

According to the source of the publication, information about the “annexation” of Transnistria to the Russian Federation is part of the internal political process of Moldova, as well as certain pressure from the separatists to protect their economic interests before Chisinau.

It was previously reported that at the end of February the unrecognized Transnistria may ask Putin to “join” the Russian Federation. On February 28, in Transnistria they plan to hold a congress of deputies of all levels for the first time in 18 years, and it is there that they can appeal to the Russian dictator about the annexation of the region.

At the same time, according to military expert Vadim Denisenko, the likelihood of a sudden announcement of the annexation of Transnistria to Russia is close to zero.

In turn, the deputy commander of the 3rd assault brigade, ex-commander of the Azov regiment, Maxim Zhorin, calls the possibility of the official “annexation” of the unrecognized Transnistria to Russia quite real.
