The Kremlin may be preparing provocations in Transnistria.
The military expert said that it is necessary to remove the threat to Ukraine from the unrecognized Transnistria , and also called the region a “cancerous tumor” that should not be left on the body of “security”. That is why, over time, the issue regarding this territory will be resolved.
This was stated in an interview with Obozrevatel by the former Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant-General Igor Romanenko.
He also noted a reference to US military analysts that the Kremlin may be preparing provocations in Transnistria.
“We need to remove the threat from this side, but to act on several fronts – Transnistria, Belarus – this is the wrong approach from a military point of view. We will not make such a mistake,” Romanenko said.
Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that the Russian Federation was planning a coup in Moldova in order to change the country's leadership.
