Canadian actor Elliot Page, who came out at the end of 2020 as a transgender man and removed his breasts through surgery, called the process of gender reassignment “life-saving.” He stated this in an interview with Oprah Winfrey, released on the Apple TV + platform.

During the interview, Paige shed tears when Winfrey asked him what brought him the most joy. He said that he feels happier after undergoing breast surgery. Describing his transgender transition as a “liberating experience,” he confessed that the operation gave him new energy.

“I want people to know that it not only changed my life, but I also believe that it saves the lives of many other people,” said the actor.

Page described in an interview all the torment he faced when he was forced to come to film premieres in dresses, as he felt uncomfortable being in a woman's body.

In March, Page removed his breast and admitted that the operation helped him “finally recognize himself when he looks in the mirror.”

On December 1, Ellen Page came out as a transgender man and changed her name to Elliot Page on her Twitter page. The actor urged to use the pronoun “he / they” in relation to himself.

Elliot Page became the first transgender man to appear on the cover of Time magazine. He was also nominated for an Academy Award for his role in Juneau.
