Passengers of the train were stuck in the tunnel under the English Channel for five hours due to technical malfunctions

The train connecting France and Britain broke down under the English Channel.

On the evening of August 23, passengers on the Le Shuttle train, which connects France and Britain through the Eurotunnel under the English Channel, were stuck on the way for 5 hours due to technical problems.

This is reported by the BBC.

According to one of the passengers, the train was on the way in the tunnel for about 10 minutes, when the lights suddenly went out and the train stopped. The driver explained that it was necessary to check the malfunction with the running gear, but after an hour and a half nothing was found out. People were then asked to get off the train and go from the main tunnel to the service tunnel.

“It was like in a disaster movie. You just walked into the abyss, not knowing what was happening. We all had to stay under water in this long queue,” said one of the women.

Recall, about 1,300 illegal migrants crossed the English Channel in one day.
