A resident of the town of Bilecik in northwestern Turkey came across artifacts when he decided to dig up a site near the house. He discovered the remains of people and their household items. This is reported by the Hurriet Daily News.
The man brought his finds to the museum two years ago, but scientists have only now determined that their age is about 8500 years. Even then, these people were engaged in agriculture and played music, as evidenced by the remnants of grain crops and an object with three drilled holes, similar to an instrument.
According to scientists, the artifacts cannot be attributed to any of the known civilizations. Now they plan to conduct genetic studies to determine the sex and age of the people whose bones were found, and to understand what diseases they suffered from.
