Tourist bus accident in Germany: MFA reports details of Ukrainian victims

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine confirmed information about Ukrainians injured in a tourist bus accident in Germany.

An accident involving a tourist bus occurred in Germany, resulting in injuries to four Ukrainian citizens.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported this.

Circumstances of the accident and information about the victims

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that on the night of Friday, July 4, a double-decker tourist bus of the Flixbus company overturned on the A19 motorway near the German city of Rebel. The bus was traveling on the international route Copenhagen – Vienna.

At the time of the accident, there were 54 passengers and two drivers on the bus. A total of 23 people received injuries of varying severity. Among the victims were four Ukrainian citizens aged 18 to 21.

The department specified that the hospitalized Ukrainian, born in 2007, is in a stable condition. Doctors are currently conducting additional examinations and plan to discharge the girl on July 5. Three other injured Ukrainians were given free tickets to continue their trip after examination and first aid.

Consular actions and investigation

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that a representative of the Ukrainian consulate is in constant contact with both the affected Ukrainian citizens and with representatives of the local German police.

It is known that there were citizens of 23 countries among the passengers of the bus. But the cause of the accident has not yet been established. The investigation into the circumstances of the incident continues. The police brought in interpreters to question the participants of the accident.

Let us recall that a serious accident involving Ukrainians occurred near Warsaw. Four people were taken to hospitals.
