Tough Sanctions Against Russia and More: Senator Lindsey Graham Explains Trump's Threat

If the Senate passes the bill, sanctions could also hit China and India, which buy Russian energy supplies.

US Republican Senator Lindsey Graham commented on US President Donald Trump's statement about his dissatisfaction with the actions of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and the introduction of new sanctions against the Russian Federation.

This is stated in his note on the X platform.

The senator praised the accuracy of Donald Trump's characterization of “the games Putin plays” and stressed that it was time to change the “rules of the game,” including for those who support the Russian president's war machine.

“The Senate will soon consider a tough sanctions bill — not just against Russia, but against countries like China and India that buy Russian energy, that fund Putin's war machine. The Senate bill contains a presidential exemption to give President Trump maximum leverage,” Lindsey Graham recalled.

Earlier, Donald Trump said that he was seriously considering sanctions against Russia, and Russian President Vladimir Putin says a lot of “nonsense” (literally, the American president used the expression “a pile of shit,” which has an obscene meaning as “crap”).

Let us recall that a bill was previously submitted to the US Senate that would introduce a 500% duty on anyone who buys Russian oil.
