Tokyo Olympics Detected 29 New Coronavirus Cases
The organizers of the Olympics reported that 29 people involved in the event passed the COVID-19 test with a positive result in 24 hours, Interfax reports.
It is noted that, among other things, four athletes who arrived in Tokyo from abroad were infected.
The total number of COVID-19 cases among persons involved in the Games has reached 322.
The day before, 18 infected were reported. It was clarified that a Greek athlete performing in synchronized swimming fell ill.
The 2020 Olympics takes place in Tokyo from July 23 to August 8. Due to the epidemiological situation, the competitions in the capital and three other cities of the country are held without spectators. In addition, an emergency regime is in effect in Tokyo until August 31.
