DPRK at full capacity ammunition factories operate to supply weapons to Russia in exchange for food and other essential goods.

This was announced by the Minister of Defense of South Korea, Shin Won-Sik, writes Yonhap.

“While North Korea's weapons factories are operating at 30% capacity due to shortages of raw materials and energy, some factories are operating at full capacity, which mainly produce weapons and projectiles for Russia,โ€ said Sin.

It is noted that North Korea has already sent about 6,700 containers to Russia since the meeting between North Korean leader Kim Jong-in and Russian President Vladimir Putin in September.

“This quantity is enough to accommodate about 3 million 152mm artillery shells or 500 thousand 122mm artillery shells,” – the message says.

Sin also suggested that North Korea appears to be receiving food and other basic necessities from the Russian Federation, as well as raw materials and parts used in weapons production.

“Moscow may also have provided Pyongyang with satellite technology, as the country launched its first spy satellite into orbit in November and has promised to launch three more this year,” โ€“< /em> the message says.

At the same time, Shin expressed skepticism about the DPRK's claim that the device is capable of photographing major military installations in South Korea and the United States.

“It shows no signs of functioning and is just floating around in orbit with no activity” he said.

Since September 2023 North Korea has supplied Russia with more than 10 thousand containers of ammunition or related materials.
