With their triumph the English ended at the same time a remarkable EM for Denmark in many ways. “They played an unbelievable tournament”, praised Southgate the team of his colleague Kasper Hjulmand, who was carried through the tournament by the emotional support of their compatriots after the drama about their star Christian Eriksen in the first European Championship game.
