The US defense budget for the next fiscal year also provides for assistance to Ukraine – $300 million. However, this is not the kind of assistance that people are now “breaking their spears” about. Democrats and Republicans.

Today, December 14, the US House of Representatives approved a national defense spending bill that calls for a record $886 billion in spending in 2024 th fiscal year.

This is reported by The Hill and Reuters.

The defense bill also includes $300 million to support Ukraine against Russian invasion and $11.5 billion to deter China in the Indian-Pacific region.

The House resolution allows $300 million to be allocated to Ukraine in the fiscal year that expires September 30, 2024, and the same amount in the next.

“However, this figure is tiny compared to the $61 billion in aid to Ukraine that Biden asked Congress for,” the publication notes. This aid remains blocked by Republicans.

Recall that on November 16, US President Joe Biden signed a temporary budget law that does not provide for assistance to Ukraine.

Today it became known that the US Congress went on vacation without accepting aid to Ukraine.

Meanwhile, the White House warned that $1 billion remained in the United States budget, from which assistance is allocated to Ukraine.
