The representative of the social network TikTok responded to the US authorities, which previously imposed a ban on downloading the application in the country. This was reported by the TV channel “360”.
They said they disagree with the decision of the US Department of Commerce and are disappointed that it intends to ban new users from downloading the application.
TikTok representatives recalled that the application is used by 100 million US residents. The company, in turn, ensures that their privacy and security are protected. They also said they have already committed to providing an unprecedented level of transparency and accountability, far beyond what other applications are willing to do.
TikTok added that an American technology provider will be responsible for maintaining and operating the app in the United States. “We will continue to challenge the unfair decree,” concluded the representatives of the social network.
On September 18, it became known that the United States will ban the download of TikTok and WeChat. At the same time, it is indicated that the authorities will not force users to remove applications from their phones, but will force Apple and Google to remove Chinese applications from their platforms available in the country. At the same time, Apple and Google will be able to save applications on platforms operating in other countries. In addition, US companies will be allowed to do business in China via WeChat.
On September 14, Oracle confirmed the purchase of the US segment of TikTok. How the deal will be conducted and how Oracle will develop the business is not specified. The company is slated to become a technology partner for China's ByteDance. At the same time, US President Donald Trump announced that he was not ready to sign an Oracle deal to buy an application.
