“You will surely remember the moment when all eight gates were opened. So, opening the gates to Naruto is in fact an exothermic reaction, “says the teacher.
This video was watched by almost 240 thousand people, others scored a million views. Chemistry teacher Ulan Usenov did not expect such an effect. I just wanted to combine my hobby and work – to make my subject understandable and interesting for schoolchildren.
“I try to convey it to the viewer as simply as possible. When he recalls this fragment from the anime, he realizes that this is not about anime at all. It turns out that there is a background of chemistry inside, ”said Usenov.
He has been watching anime since school. The most favorite – about the boy Naruto, turned out to be liked by modern teenagers. In just a month and a half, Ulan gained 200 thousand subscribers. Perhaps no other teacher has such a number of students.
“Being on TikTok is more of a challenge and a demand for me. If they are there, and they do not all want to learn chemistry, because sometimes they are not interested in how their teacher teaches a subject, then I will go there and make it interesting – so that they like it, ”says the chemistry teacher.
This is not easy. The content on TikTok is mostly entertaining, so the teacher is experimenting a lot. In addition to anime, he has unusual examples, funny stories and even rap in his arsenal.
“The very term oxidation, believe me, is conditional, only the meaning is important to you. Constant or variable – be able to remember, here to consolidate, ”- says the teacher.
He tries to upload one video a day, but it doesn't always work out – there is not enough time. Ulan is a school teacher and tutor. But he has a lot of new ideas. In the future, the teacher is going to shoot interesting experiences for TikTok.
Ulan believes that teaching children is about creativity, not about standards and frameworks. He sometimes uses his videos in class and sets homework on them. The teacher plans to shoot videos with other characters. For example, discover chemistry with the heroes of the Marvel Universe.
