The main Belarusian opposition leader Sergei Tikhanovsky, who was released from prison, assured that he fully supports Ukraine in its resistance to Russian aggression. He noted that his trip to occupied Crimea in 2017 was a “pilgrimage.”

He spoke about this on Sunday, June 22, at a press conference in Lithuania, reports the publication Nasha Niva.

Tikhanovsky stressed that he had never been a “pro-Russian politician” and did not have a Russian passport.

“I had a business, I had offices in Moscow, Kyiv and a company in Lithuania. And that's all. I was never pro-Russian, these are fakes. Our common enemy is the Putin regime. Until it collapses, there will be no victory in Belarus,” he noted.

According to him, during his trip to Crimea in 2017, he was not yet thinking about politics and was not involved in blogging.

“I went there as a pilgrim,” he said.

Tikhanovsky added that at that time many Belarusians traveled to the Russian-occupied Crimean peninsula, and he was one of them.

The Belarusian oppositionist added that he supports Ukraine and considers President Zelensky a hero.

“I absolutely support Ukraine. President Zelensky had such a difficult fate. What I went through is nothing compared to what he went through. He is a hero to me. I support him absolutely and with all my heart.”

Let us recall that the day before, the press secretary of the self-proclaimed Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko stated that the release of 14 political prisoners, including opposition leader Sergei Tikhanovsky, occurred at the request of US President Donald Trump.
