Following a visit to Minsk by US Presidential Special Representative Keith Kellogg, 14 prisoners from different countries were released from Belarusian prisons, including the main opposition figure in Belarus, Sergei Tikhanovsky.
The mass release of political prisoners was reported on the X network by John Cole, deputy special representative Keith Kellogg.
“Thanks to President Trump's strong leadership, 14 prisoners from Belarus were released today. Thank you to the Lithuanian government for your cooperation and assistance – they remain a true friend and ally,” he wrote.
According to this report, Sergei Tikhanovsky and other prisoners of the Lukashenko regime were immediately transported to Lithuania.
Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, who led the Belarusian opposition after her husband was imprisoned, published a video of a touching meeting with him, without specifying the place where it happened.

Svetlana Tikhanovskaya's diplomatic adviser Denis Kuchinsky told the Zerkalo publication that among the released political prisoners, five are Belarusians, one person has dual citizenship, and the rest are citizens of other countries who were in Belarusian prisons.
“Zerkalo” published a list of the names of those released, which became known: Kirill Balakhanov, Akihira Gaevsky-Khanada, Natalia Dulina, Igor Kornei, Galina Krasnyanskaya, Sergei Tikhanovsky, Sergei Sheleg.
According to Belsat, three Polish citizens are among those released. Their names have not yet been released.
The Reform Telegram channel reported that Estonian citizen Allan Royo, who was sentenced to 6 years in a maximum security penal colony on April 1, 2025 for creating an “extremist group,” has been released. Earlier, the KGB recognized his foundation, Fund of Belarus Friend LTD, as “extremist.”

Denis Kuchinsky reported that Sergei Tikhanovsky, who was released from prison, is feeling well and is currently spending time with his family.
“Right now, Sergei Tikhanovsky is with Svetlana. He feels very cheerful and alive. This is the same Sergei we knew before 2020 – he is in a very fighting mood,” he said.
According to him, all those released will receive support and will be provided with housing in Vilnius.
“We are very pleased with this news and grateful to US President Donald Trump for his leadership in releasing Belarusian political prisoners,” added Svetlana Tikhanovskaya’s diplomatic adviser.
