Apple unveils 13th iPhone lineup
Apple presented four new iPhone models – two younger iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Mini and two older ones – iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. The latter has a storage capacity of up to 1 TB and has become the most expensive smartphone manufacturer ever. Apple is particularly emphasizing the improvement of cameras, photo and video modes, as well as the enhancement of the batteries of new models. Experts point to high prices and the lack of phones with a small amount of memory, and investors have already reacted to the presentation by lowering Apple's quotes.
At the presentation of new products in Cupertino on September 14, Apple introduced two tablets – iPad 9 and iPad mini . The former has become thinner, received the A13 Bionic chip previously used in the iPhone 11, as well as support for the Apple Pencil and a separate keyboard. iPad mini features a larger 8.3-inch Liquid Retina display and an A15 Bionic chip. According to Apple, the new product works up to 80% faster than previous generation devices.
The tablets will go on sale on September 24th. iPad 9 will cost from 31 thousand to 43 thousand rubles. depending on the configuration, iPad mini – from 48 thousand to 62 thousand rubles.
Apple also showed off the new Apple Watch Series 7 . The company claims that this model is stronger than the previous ones. According to the head of Apple Tim Cook, the device will go on sale in the fall, the date has not been specified. The novelty will cost from 24 thousand to 27.5 thousand rubles. depending on the size of the case.
The main event of the presentation was the line of new iPhone 13 smartphones. Apple has introduced four models. The two younger ones – iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini will be available in five colors (pink, blue, “dark night”, “shining star” and red). The cutout for sensors and speakers at the top of the display, the so-called bangs, has become 20% smaller. New items are equipped with the Apple A15 Bionic chip. The battery life of the iPhone 13 mini is increased by 1.5 hours compared to the previous model, and the battery life of the iPhone 13 is increased by 2.5 hours.
But the biggest breakthrough, in its own opinion, was made by Apple in the field of cameras. The new products have 3x optical zoom and night mode, all cameras support Cinema mode and 4K video recording in ProRes format, which should better reflect colors and details in the frame. The focus can be changed after shooting, as new smartphones save data about the depth of the frame.
IPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max models will be able to last longer than all previous models of Apple smartphones, Pro MaX is available with increased storage capacity – up to 1 TB. iPhone 13 Pro will cost from 100 thousand to 150 thousand rubles. And Pro Max – from 110 thousand to 160 thousand rubles.
According to Mobile Research Group analyst Eldar Murtazin, new items will be on sale in Russia in about a month. “There were no smartphones with 64 GB of storage in the new line, and the iPhone 13 Pro Max turned out to be the most expensive model of the manufacturer's smartphone ever,” he said. According to the expert, the new smartphones are designed for those who update the iPhone every year: “The rest will buy the cheaper iPhone 11 and 12.” Investors, meanwhile, didn't seem to be inspired by Apple's new devices. Apple shares since the start of the presentation of new products fell by 1.39% on the American stock exchange NASDAQ, to $ 146.91.
