Police believe the shipment was destined for Australia.

New Zealand Navy in the Pacific intercepted a floating shipment of cocaine – the largest drug arrest in the history of the country.

This is reported by the BBC.

The find weighs 3.2 tons and is worth $316 million. The packages were hung with buoys, and some were marked with a Batman and clover symbol.

“This is the largest find of illegal drugs by New Zealand agencies. This is more than New Zealand would use in 30 years,” said New Zealand Police Commissioner Andrew Bonfire.
