Former Brazilian striker and world champion Pele released from hospital

Pele, three-time world football champion with the Brazilian national team, has been discharged from the hospital. This was reported by Reuters.
The 81-year-old ex-athlete was hospitalized in early December and was undergoing treatment. Before that, in September, he underwent an operation to remove a tumor in his colon. After that, he got worse and was taken to the São Paulo hospital.
In August, the media also reported that Pele was being treated in a hospital. Then Pele said that he would conduct a routine examination, which he postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Pele is known for his performances for Brazilian “Santos” and “New York Cosmos” from the USA. As part of the Brazilian national team, the striker won the world championship three times. He was named the Player of the Century by the International Football Federation (FIFA).
