Tens of thousands of dangerous vulnerabilities have been discovered in the networks of Russian state institutions, according to a study by the Russian company in the field of cybersecurity Positive Technologies. It is reported by RIA Novosti.
The data was obtained as a result of scanning more than 15,000 network nodes in the infrastructure of Russian institutions of science and education, financial institutions and telecommunications companies.
“In the course of scans, an average of 31,066 vulnerabilities were identified in one pilot project, while critical vulnerabilities were found in all pilot projects,” a Positive Technologies representative said.
At the same time, about 800 of the vulnerabilities found are “extremely dangerous.” They require priority actions to eliminate, as they are actively used in attacks and are highly likely to be used in the near future.
Earlier, American intelligence agencies came up with a way to counter the cyber threat from the so-called “Russian hackers”. The United States has released an official bulletin that should help businesses and government agencies in the country to fight criminals. The development of the manual, which is published on the website of the Cyber Security and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), was attended by specialists from two more American structures – the FBI and the National Security Agency (NSA).
