Two suspects of involvement in the terrorist attack in Vienna were arrested in Switzerland. This was reported by the Zurich police, reports Reuters.

“Two men were arrested on Tuesday evening with the participation of the Austrian authorities,” the agency quoted the police as saying.

It also explains that the degree of their participation in yesterday's attack on the Austrian capital and the connection with the terrorist eliminated in its course is being specified. The authorities responsible for this are conducting the investigation.

As it became known earlier on November 3, at least one of the shooters in Vienna sympathized with the terrorist group “Islamic State” (IS, banned in Russia). He was born and raised in Vienna, but he has Albanian roots: the parents of the terrorist are from North Macedonia.

On the evening of 2 November, several armed men opened fire in six different parts of Vienna. The first shots were fired at 20:00 local time (22:00 Moscow time) at the synagogue in the center of the capital. The security forces managed to shoot one of the attackers. The Austrian Interior Ministry declared the incident a terrorist attack. At least five people died, 17 people were injured.
