“This is what we decided in Washington”: Mark Rutte made a statement about Ukraine in NATO

Mark Rutte answered whether the Alliance is ready to officially invite Ukraine to join.

Ukraine can become the 33rd member of NATO, so it's only a matter of time.

This was reported before the meeting of NATO defense ministers in Brussels Secretary General Mark Rutte said.

A journalist asked the Secretary General whether the Alliance was ready to officially invite Ukraine to join?

“Yes, in the future Ukraine will be the 32nd or 34th member of NATO. Now, it looks like Ukraine will be number 33, but perhaps someone else will join before it. However, Ukraine will be a member of NATO in the future. That's what we decided in Washington (at the NATO summit in July – ed.). Therefore, it's a question of time,” Rutte said.

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Ambassador to the UK made a statement about the need to strengthen NATO by adding Ukraine to Alliance.
