Russian dictator Putin “literally kills his opponents,” he said. At the same time, Chinese leader Xi Jinping “does not share our values of freedom and democracy.”
“So if we have this situation, and they are Putin and Xi Jinping, trying to spread their system to the rest of the world, we need to understand and open our eyes that this is a direct threat to our way of life,” Shapps said .
In addition, he recalled Russia's ties with Iran and North Korea as a similar risk.
“This is not good for those who love democracy,” added Grant Shapps.
