The Ministry of Health of Belarus announced the beginning of the third wave of coronavirus in the country. BelTA writes about this with reference to the head of the department of hygiene, epidemiology and prevention of the department Inna Karaban.
According to her, Belarusian doctors in recent days have recorded another rise in the incidence of COVID-19, which was characteristic of previous outbreaks. “We call this the beginning of the third wave,” Karaban said.
In total, according to the Ministry of Health, since the beginning of the pandemic in Belarus, over 336 thousand people have become infected with the coronavirus, more than two thousand patients have become victims of the infection.
Earlier, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko wished to “stand on the shoulders of Russia” and create his own vaccine against coronavirus, which will become “the best in the world.” He said that the rapid development of the drug will be ensured by the fact that local specialists already “know something” and can benefit from the experience of Russia, Europe and China.
