Thief protection will appear in Windows

Windows 10X will add protection against device theft. It is reported by the Bleeping Computer edition.

Experts who studied early builds of the operating system found built-in protection in the operating system. If the user tries to reset Windows settings to factory settings and erase information from the drive, the system will ask him to enter a password or pin code. Entering the confirmation code is mandatory. Anti-theft protection can be activated in Windows settings.

There is no such function in current versions of Windows. Thus, anyone who has access to the computer can go into the settings and erase all information from the device.

Journalists suggested that protection from thieves will be especially in demand in Windows 10X, since this system is primarily focused on laptop computers. However, the authors expect a similar feature to appear in desktop versions of Windows 10.

Earlier, experts found out that 10X will add support for 32-bit programs. After activating this function, users will be able to install applications that are not signed by the developer on their computer.

Windows 10X is scheduled to ship in mid-2021. First of all, it will be designed for low-performance laptops, then the OS will support devices with two screens.
