The Russian Federation is experiencing a labor shortage due to the war it is waging with Ukraine.
By the end of this year, Russia expects the arrival of 1 million workers from India, who want to compensate for the labor shortage that has significantly increased in the Russian Federation after the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
The Chairman of the Ural Chamber of Commerce and Industry Andrei Besedin informed Russian propagandists of the European-Asian News agency about such plans, citing his Indian colleagues.
“A new Consulate General of this country is opening in Yekaterinburg, which will deal with these issues,” he said.
With the help of migrants, Besedin hopes to reduce the shortage of personnel at industrial metallurgy and mechanical engineering enterprises in the Sverdlovsk region.
According to him, many local workers have gone to war with Ukraine, and young people are not going to work in factories.
According to Besedin, work to attract labor migrants is also being carried out with other countries.
“Sri Lanka is coming up with great potential. The embassy was tasked with working on this issue with the region as much as possible. There are also agreements with North Korea – people there know how to work,” he noted.
The Russian official admits that the adaptation of labor migrants from the listed countries will not be easy, primarily because none of them know Russian.
In June, the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs proposed opening secondary vocational education institutions in India in order to train workers for the Russian Federation directly there.
Let us recall that almost a hundred Indians were lured to Russia with offers of work or education, but they were forced to serve in the army.
