The structures of the Romanian Ministry of Defense "will continue to investigate this situation in order to clarify all the circumstances".

The Romanian side stated that its air defense did not record the entry of a Russian missile into the airspace during a massive strike on Ukraine on the night of Wednesday, 25 December.

This was stated by the representative of the Romanian Ministry of Defense Constantin Spin for Digi24.

According to him, the Ukrainian side informed Romania about the flight of the Russian missile through the airspace of Moldova at about 7:30 am, after which it was in the area of the city of Darabani “within two minutes”.

“According to the monitoring data of the Romanian air surveillance systems and the data provided by the means of NATO countries, which supplement the monitoring, the crossing of the Romanian airspace in the area of responsibility of Romania was not confirmed,” the representative summed up.

Recall that during the massive missile attack on December 25, one Russian missile crossed the airspace of four countries. The missile, launched from Russian territory, first flew through southern Ukraine, flew 140 km through the airspace of Moldova and Romania, and returned to Ukrainian territory again.
