According to journalists, Vladimir Putin found himself under pressure from Kremlin radicals. The reason was that on June 1, Ukraine launched a surprise drone strike on strategically important air bases with bombers.
All the interlocutors decided to remain anonymous. As one of them said, after the attack, the Kremlin was in “shock and indignation.” Some Russian radicals began to demand an immediate declaration of war on Ukraine. In their opinion, the so-called “SVO” no longer corresponds to the Kremlin's goals.
Russian “hawks” believe that only a formal war will allow for escalation. According to the publication, they are seeking daily intercontinental missile strikes and the mobilization of up to two million reservists.
