The Russian occupation troops fired at the gas distribution station, as well as the administrative buildings of the GTS Operator of Ukraine.
According to the OGTSU, as a result of shelling, the buildings of the main gas pipelines were damaged in two cities at once: Nikolaev and Kharkov. In addition, the enemy hit the gas distribution station in Nikolaev. In Kharkov, because of the fighting, the facade of the administration building was hit.
Employees are being evacuated to safe havens. According to preliminary information, there are no victims or injured.
Despite the hostilities, the Ukrainian GTS continues to meet the needs of Ukrainian consumers, energy and industry. Currently, 7 gas distribution stations remain offline on the line of combat clashes. It is not possible to restore gas supply in the regional gas network due to the risk of fire. Nevertheless, on a national scale, the gas transportation infrastructure operates without critical damage.
– Intense fighting, but, fortunately, the critical infrastructure of the main gas pipelines has not yet been damaged and we hope that it will not be damaged. Because damage to critical infrastructure, including gas transmission networks, can be considered a crime against humanity. Because now we have winter, we need to supply gas to our homes, – Sergey Makogon, General Director of the GTS Operator of Ukraine, told ICTV Facts in a commentary.
