In the Lviv region, archaeologists have discovered new extraordinary finds from the times of the Roman Empire. In particular, fragments of two glass goblets have no analogues in Ukraine .
According to the Lviv Regional State Administration, the items were found near the village of Karov. Among them there are two unique archaeological sites : a burial with objects for the ceremony inside and an in-depth structure, the purpose of which now remains a mystery to scientists.
– In addition to human remains, archaeologists have found fragments of two glass goblets, which have no analogues in Ukraine.
Also fragments of a horny three-layer ridge, a bronze fastener (fibula), part of a wooden box covered with bronze plates with decorative nails, and half of a white paste glass token used for Roman board games, & # 8212; noted the director of the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning Elena Vasilko.
Scientists believe that a rich man was buried at the excavation site. This is evidenced by the found valuable items from the times of the Roman Empire, dating back to the beginning of the 3rd century AD.
In 2017, archaeologists began to explore the surroundings village Karov in the Lviv region, when local historians accidentally discovered an ancient sword and other metal products.
Scientists came to the conclusion that this is an ancient burial ground Germanic tribes, which should not have been in this territory.
