In the Veseloe area of the Kharkiv region, the Russian air defense system mistakenly shot down its reconnaissance drone. Trying to hide this fact, the Russian military informed the leadership about the alleged destruction of the Bayraktar of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“Today at 9.32 in the Veseloe district of the Kharkiv region, an air defense unit of the 6th Army of the RF Armed Forces from the TOR air defense system at an altitude of 320 m shot down a Russian UAV, which was advanced for reconnaissance in the Kharkov direction,” wrote Valery Zaluzhny, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on his Facebook page.
According to him, the results of the investigation into the causes of the disappearance of the UAV of the RF Armed Forces proved the fact that it was shot down by its own air defense system, but the army command decided to hide this information.
– We have destroyed the myth of the “invincibility” of the Russian army. They expected to conquer us in 48 hours. A maximum of 3 days were calculated stocks of food, fuel, ammunition. But we stopped them and thwarted the takeover plans. The enemy suffers serious losses in personnel and equipment. This war proves how far we have come in recent years. Today, in terms of professionalism, the Russian army is the sample of the beginning of 2014,” added Zaluzny.
