In the Ternopil region, a son and his elderly mother died of hypothermia in their own house.
The accident happened in Kremenets. Concerned neighbors contacted the police. In the house opposite with vet was turned on for several days.
When law enforcement officers got inside, a 80-year-old woman and her 53-year-old son were found without any signs of life.
Neighbors confirmed that the mother and son were poor and both abused alcohol.
At the same time, they tried to save on utility bills and did not stock up on firewood for the winter.
There were no traces of violent death on their bodies: according to the criminologist, death occurred three to five days ago. According to preliminary findings, the family died as a result of hypothermia.
Law enforcement officers entered information about the incident in the ERDR in accordance with Part 1 of Art. 115 (marked as Accident) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
