In the Ternopil region, a man was detained who stabbed his father and seriously injured his brother. The reason for the brutal attack on relatives was that they did not want to treat the man to dinner.
The incident occurred on the evening of February 7 in one of the villages of the Kremenets region. On that day, a 61-year-old man and his two adult sons went to work with friends.
Together with his eldest son, the man helped a friend to chop a pig, and his younger brother did the housework for another fellow villager all day.
– For the work done, some were paid off with fresh meat, and with others – alcohol. The conflict between relatives began during dinner. The father and brother refused to share meat with a family member, the report says.
When the youngest of the brothers was not allowed to have dinner, he got angry and immediately grabbed a knife. The father got up from the table first: it was he who received a fatal blow to the chest.
The elder brother stood up for the wounded pensioner, but he could not stop the attacker – he hit him in the face with scissors, after which he fled the house.

It was established that after that the man ran to his neighbor, where he confessed everything. At first, she did not believe and decided to visit the house. Only after what he saw, the excited neighbor called law enforcement officers and doctors.
What the police say
After interrogating fellow villagers, it became clear to the police that the family was considered dysfunctional.
– None of the men worked, they were interrupted by temporary part-time jobs. They immediately drank what they earned. Quarrels and fights were not uncommon in this family, the report says.
While the neighbor was waiting for the arrival of the doctors, the suspect managed to escape: the investigators, together with the district police officer, found him a few hours later. The man was hiding in an abandoned building in a nearby village.
The ambulance team pronounced the suspect's father dead. Doctors continue to fight for the life of his older brother, the man is in intensive care.
Criminal proceedings were initiated under Part 1 of Article 115 (Deliberate murder) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. It is possible that after the commission of priority investigative actions, the number of articles may increase.
