More than 70,000 Jewish Israelis marched through the Muslim quarter of Jerusalem , to celebrate Israel's 1967 takeover of its shrine in the eastern part of the city.
On Sunday, May 29, thousands of Israelis marched through East Jerusalem, waving national flags and shouting xenophobic slogans against the Arabs.

Every year, Israel celebrates victory in the Six Day War with a coalition of Arab states, which resulted in control of the Wailing Wall in the eastern part of the holy city of Jerusalem for three religions.

Israeli police in riot gear blocked the surrounding streets, forcibly removing Palestinian demonstrators from the route.< /p>
Rubber bullets, stun grenades and pepper gas have injured 79 Palestinians and shot dead one protester in Jerusalem, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society.

According to the agency, 28 people were hospitalized after clashes with Israeli security forces and Israeli marchers.
At least 163 Palestinians were also injured in the West Bank. According to the Red Crescent, at least 11 of these wounds were caused by live bullets.
