According to Life, the first in line were young people who brought with them folding chairs, food bags and mugs. But not all of them came to buy new phones for themselves. Some took places in line for money to buy new items for a certain man who wanted to buy many gadgets at once.

“For fun, we posted an announcement on Avito that we’ll sit out the night, and we’ll be the first in line. There were a lot of people, journalists called and found out, ”the young people said.

The journalists also spoke with those who have already developed the habit of standing in line for many hours and buying new iPhones for themselves first.

In places in the queues for the iPhone, enterprising residents of Moscow began trading on September 20. On the Avito ad service, Russians asked for up to 140,000 rubles to queue up for an iPhone 13 for three days.

Before the start of sales, retailers reported an abundance of Russians willing to buy new iPhone models. M.Video-Eldorado said that the demand for the iPhone 13 was almost double that of the iPhone 12 for all days of pre-order.

The new models look almost identical to the iPhone 12, but they have become thicker and presented in new colors. The iPhone 13 has a new, brighter OLED display, as well as a smaller top notch.
