The die has apparently been cast to open the catering trade. As the ÖVP blog “To the point” reported on Wednesday, the reopening of restaurants and co. Is already a done deal. In the story, the new party media is referring to a government insider. Target time should be mid-March.
The exact time of opening has not yet been determined, but an “access test”, as with body-hugging services, is fixed. Means: Anyone who wants to go to the coffee house in the future or pay a visit to their favorite restaurant needs a negative corona test. Those who cannot show such a test are not allowed to enter the restaurant.
It is also a fact that in addition to “entry or access tests” there will be other strict corona rules in the catering trade. Wearing an FFP2 mask is compulsory in restaurants (except at the table). The minimum distance to other tables or guests must also be observed. How big this is exactly is not yet known.
In addition to strict adherence to hygiene measures, curfew regulation should also apply. Here, too, the exact time has not yet been determined, but the curfew is likely to be around 11 p.m. However, this has not yet been confirmed.
Even if there are still many questions about the imminent reopening of the catering trade, the innkeepers signaled their readiness for measures such as the “entry tests” on Tuesday. “Seven months of lockdown since the beginning of the Corona crisis are enough,” said Mario Pulker, chairman of the Gastronomy Association in the Chamber of Commerce.
And further: “Our prevention and security concepts are on the table, the companies have done their homework, and: we are committed to admission testing. Our clear goal is safe opening in March!” And this goal should now actually be achieved and possibly be officially announced after the Corona summit on March 1st.
