The murder of the former deputy, professor of Lviv University and linguist Irina Farion was prepared for more than one day. Law enforcement officers continue to search for weapons.
The deputy head of the National Police, the head of the criminal police Andrey Nebytov announced this in the Svoboda Live project.
How the murder of Irina Farion was prepared
According to him, the murder of Irina Farion was prepared not in one day, but in two months.
Now watching
— This crime was not prepared in one day. It was prepared for at least two months. Of course, the suspect who planned it bought clothes, tracked escape routes, he also tried to hide weapons. We have certain operational information that we will implement. I hope that we will find it soon, – said Andrey Nebytov.
At the same time, he emphasized that the murder has been solved.
— It was very difficult to track a person who went into the forest in certain clothes and got lost somewhere in 100 hectares, but still came out somewhere. In order for him to come out somewhere, criminal investigation officers worked for six days, they found this person without disguise… We found this person. We succeeded. Therefore, I believe this crime has been solved, Nebytov noted.
The suspect did not think up the crime himself
The Deputy Chairman of the National Police noted that the suspect in the murder of Iryna Farion did not come up with this crime himself. He was a member of certain groups, unfortunately, not pro-Ukrainian. Nebitov said that he talked to the guy and claims that he supposedly respects Ukraine.
— He respects Ukraine, his father fights, I will not say in which brigade. But since he loves Ukraine, it seems to him that he acted correctly. He believes that there is no need to divide Ukrainian society — he had his own motives. I do not know whether he will tell journalists about this or not.
For us, for the police, law enforcement, the main thing — is the investigation. We will establish all the circumstances. We understand that he was a member of groups where he was given certain recommendations: how to disguise himself, how to remain unnoticed in the city, how to avoid being caught committing this crime. And he chose for himself the object of attack — [so that] the person would be as unprotected as possible, – said Andrey Nebytov.
