Biden's failure at the debate was predicted by all American media.
The early debates between US presidential candidates Joe Biden and Donald Trump did not were mandatory, and their result was obvious even before the start. However, the fact that Democratic political strategists initiated them despite all the risks for their candidate may indicate an important hidden meaning.
The head of the board of the Ukrainian Crisis Media Center, ex-ambassador of Ukraine to the USA Valery Chaly spoke about this on the air of “Espreso”.
According to Chaly, the first question to ask is why such an early debate was initiated by Democrats.
“Frankly speaking, I tried to answer this question for myself. When the debates were announced, the situation was different. Apparently, after all these trials, I wanted to bring candidate Donald Trump to these debates. Perhaps that was the intention” , noted the diplomat.
In his opinion, the Democratic political strategists “really failed” because the situation changed on the eve of the debate, they knew it, but still took this step.
“This was not a mandatory debate. It is known that even when a boxing match is planned, tickets are sold out, it happens that the fight is canceled or postponed,” Chaly recalled.
The diplomat explained that the mandatory debate will take place on the eve of the elections – in September. Therefore, it remains a mystery why the early debates took place if their result, or rather the impression from them, was predicted and was definitely not in favor of Joe Biden. He added that all American media made similar forecasts.
“By the way, this is another question, why all the American media focused on impressions and not on content and all the issues that concern the American voter. I think it was some kind of test, some kind of a touchstone that we decided to do earlier in order to have time for some important decisions in the campaign,” suggested Valery Chaly.
Recall that Biden was told whether he will withdraw from the election race. Former Biden press secretary Jen Psaki said chatter about Biden's continued participation in the election will distract his team from fighting Trump.
