Mads Mikkelsen
There is an official replacement for Hollywood actor Johnny Depp in the third part of the Fantastic Beasts franchise. The Wizard Grindelwald will be played by Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen. This is reported by IndieWire with reference to a press release from Warner Bros.
The fact that Mikkelsen could replace Depp was reported on November 11. The actor later denied the news of negotiations with Warner Bros.
Earlier it was reported that in the third part of the Fantastic Beasts franchise they planned to show the kiss of two magicians – Albus Dumbledore and Gellert Grindelwald.
Deprived of the role, Johnny Depp will receive an entire fee of ten million dollars for just one day of filming.
On November 6, it became known that Depp was deprived of the role of the wizard Grindelwald in the next part of “Fantastic Beasts” after the scandal with his ex-wife Amber Heard. The actress claimed that Depp beat her, the tabloid The Sun wrote about this. The actor filed a lawsuit against the newspaper, accusing him of libel, but lost the case.
The premiere of the film was postponed to July 15, 2022 due to the coronavirus pandemic. Previously, the release of the tape was planned for November 2021.
