German Chancellor Olaf Scholz noted that Russia has failed to achieve its goals in Ukraine. At the same time, the Kremlin is demonstrating its readiness to continue destroying Ukrainian cities, so there is no point in hoping for a quick end to the war.

Scholz stated this during a press conference with Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala. He noted the importance of peace talks between Ukraine and Russia.

Scholz noted that Ukraine asked some states become guarantors of the future world. He added that this is a question that is “very specific”.

The use of troops and equipment demonstrated by Russia does not give hope that this will end anytime soon. That is why it is so important that we all insist together that the guns be silent, that Russia withdraw its troops. And so that a solution is reached between Ukraine and Russia through negotiations, – the chancellor noted.

At the same time, Petr Fiala noted that he really wants the Czech Republic, during the presidency of the EU Council in the second half of this year, to be able to hold summit on the post-war renewal of Ukraine.

“Of course, for this wish to come true, it is necessary that the war and hostilities end, but, unfortunately, this is still unrealistic,” the Czech prime minister added.

Fiala stressed that Russian infidels perpetrate incredible horrors every day.

“Even those who were afraid of Russia's aggressive actions never imagined that such war crimes could happen,” the prime minister summed up.
