The operational emergency services of the Russian region reported that flooding threatens about 4 thousand private houses, where up to 10 thousand people live.

Local authorities are calling for an urgent evacuation. In particular, the mayor of Orenburg made such an appeal to residents of suburban villages.
“The situation is critical. In just one day, the water level in the Urals increased by 91 centimeters and now stands at 778 centimeters. This is already above the unfavorable value, and the water continues to rise,” local news channels quote him.
The situation is explained by the sudden melting of snow, which led to an increase in the water level in the Ural River and the Iriklinsky reservoir, which is forced to discharge almost 2.5 thousand cubic meters of water per second.
< p>Recall that on the same day, a state of emergency was introduced in the Russian city of Khabarovsk after a local resident accidentally discovered that in one of the industrial areas of the city the radiation level had jumped sharply.
