Experts from KONE explained that the use of robotic couriers will increase the level of service and contribute to the formation of a barrier-free urban environment. In Russia, such devices are used by Yandex.
According to analysts, delivery by courier robots can cost 15 times less than conventional delivery. However, so far the route of such devices is limited: they cannot deliver an order to a person directly to the apartment. To make this possible, we need a barrier-free environment in multi-storey buildings and the inclusion of a smart elevator in the supply chain.
Then the robot will be able to remotely open the entrance door, drive inside, call the elevator.
Very soon, construction companies will take this delivery method into account when designing buildings.
