The world's first unmanned aerial vehicle with a hybrid engine was created in Russia
The Russian company ZALA Aero, part of the Kalashnikov Group of Companies of the Rostec State Corporation, has developed the world's first lightweight unmanned aerial vehicle with a hybrid power plant with an electric motor and an internal combustion engine, TASS reports with reference to the head of the enterprise Nikita Khamitov.
According to him, the use of a hybrid power plant increases the duration of the flight of the device in comparison with analogues. So, the flight time will be 16 hours in silent mode.
ZALA 421-16E5G is easy to operate, which allows to reduce the role of the human factor, as well as to reduce the number of equipment used and maintained when performing a flight mission and to fully automate flight processes.
Khamitov noted that the serial production of the device has already begun, in addition, there is already a customer. The production capacity of ZALA Aero allows the production of a total of up to 300 different drones per year.
Earlier it was reported that new kamikaze drones are being developed in Russia.
