~6 0~p>She decided to die on her 34th birthday.
In the Netherlands, a woman arranged to die on her birthday. Yolanda Phan turns 34 on April 25, and on this day she intends to commit suicide by euthanasia due to serious mental health problems.
This is reported by the LAD Bible.
Dutch laws allow euthanasia for psychiatric reasons if the person is mentally competent, has long wanted to experience euthanasia, and the decision should be his. The doctor must confirm his right to end his life after all alternative solutions have been crossed out.
Yolanda previously told The Times that she has an eating disorder, recurrent depression, autism and learning difficulties that cause her to experience “darkness, overstimulation, mental chaos, loneliness” in social situations.
She said, “I feel really shitty most of the time. People don't see it because it's a mask I put on and that's what you learn in life.”
Yolanda was bullied as a child, and she said that from the age of seven she had depression and I thought a lot about death.
She continued: “My father is sick, my mother is sick, my parents are fighting to stay alive, and I want to die. It's a little strange. But even when I was seven, I asked Mom, I’ll die if I jump off the viaduct. I’ve struggled with this all my life.”
.
Despite treatment, Yolanda described her life as “constant pain” and two years ago decided to take the route of euthanasia after learning that Dutch law allowed assisted suicide for psychiatric reasons.
Yolanda described the rules on euthanasia as “very strict,” adding: “You don’t just get euthanasia, it’s a whole way… But this death is worthy: painless, done by a doctor. Your loved ones can be there and no one will find you in a terrible condition – otherwise you will not be lucky and you will not find yourself in an even worse situation than before.”
The Times reports that about one in 10 euthanasia requests for psychiatric reasons are granted.
Remember, a physically healthy 28-year-old woman will end her life by euthanasia next month. She will die at home next to her beloved.
