The WHO named the real number of deaths as a result of coronavirus
Samira Asma, Assistant Director General of the World Health Organization for Data and Analytics, said that the number of deaths from coronavirus in the world could be 6-8 million people, RIA Novosti reports.
According to her, the pandemic is now developing, so analysts can say with some reservations that there are about 6-8 million deaths from this disease.
Preliminary estimates of mortality over the past year are at least 3 million people, since not all cases could be taken into account or were directly the consequences of the transferred disease.
Earlier, WHO Director General Tedros Ghebreyesus expressed the opinion that the second year of the coronavirus pandemic could take more lives than 2020, and also recalled that more than three million people have already become victims of the pandemic.
