Experts from the World Health Organization (WHO) have doubted the timing of the start of the coronavirus pandemic. The Wall Street Journal reported.
According to the American publication, WHO experts believe that the virus could begin to spread in China earlier than December 2019, when it was officially announced. Experts note that as early as October of that year, 90 people were admitted to hospitals with symptoms similar to those that occur with coronavirus. However, two-thirds of them have been tested negative by the Chinese authorities for the virus.
The panelists also urged the Chinese authorities to conduct a more thorough study of the results of the analyzes of these patients in order to accurately determine the origin of the disease.
Earlier, the WHO expert from Russia, Vladimir Dedkov, assessed the version of the leak of COVID-19 from a laboratory in Wuhan. According to him, it is very difficult to imagine a leak from the laboratory of the Wuhan Institute of Virology, since the laboratory itself is arranged beyond praise.
