Melita Vujnovich, representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Russia, assessed the situation with coronavirus in the country. Her words on the air of the TV channel “Russia 24” are reported by RIA Novosti.
According to Vujnovich, it is hard to say how the situation will develop further. “Of course, we need to ask national epidemiologists who can model the situation very well,” she said, stressing that the pandemic can be influenced at any time.
The specialist recalled that the number of coronavirus cases, as in other countries, is growing. At the same time, Vujnovich noted the importance of the fact that Russia is rapidly increasing testing of citizens.
Earlier, WHO called on countries around the world to start preparing for a new pandemic. Countries with strong infrastructure to prepare for emergencies have shown the ability to act quickly to contain and control the spread of the coronavirus, according to the organization.
