White House: Sullivan informed Ushakov of the US readiness to participate in the Russia-NATO council

US Assistant to the President for National Security Jake Sullivan, in a conversation with Assistant to the President of Russia Yuri Ushakov, said that the United States is ready to take part in the Russia-NATO Council. This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the press service of the White House.
Sullivan made it clear that the dialogue should be based on reciprocity, in coordination with European allies and take into account US concerns about Russia's actions, follows from the message.
According to the adviser to the American president, progress around Ukraine requires an atmosphere of de-escalation. “He also noted that significant progress can only occur in an atmosphere of de-escalation, not escalation,” the White House press service said.
Earlier, aides to the presidents of Russia and the United States, Yuri Ushakov and Jake Sullivan, held a telephone conversation, during which they discussed security guarantees. This was announced by the representative of the Kremlin Dmitry Peskov. According to him, the leaders' advisers continued their discussion in the context of the well-known Russian proposals set forth in two draft documents and previously transferred to the American side.
