The White House responded to Ukraine's dissatisfaction with the G20 declaration

by alex

The White House claims that it condemns the Russian war against Ukraine in the declaration.

In the United States of America they say that last week's declaration of the G20 summit and the results of which Ukraine is dissatisfied is actually “powerful.”

The corresponding statement was made by US Presidential National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan during a briefing.

In particular, he listed four key principles of the declaration on Ukraine:

“These four points that appeared in the G20 communiqué are powerful and, I would say, in a certain way not neutral statements in this context, because all four of these points really tell Russia: “What you are doing is unacceptable,” Sullivan emphasized.

G20 Summit

On September 9, 2023, the G20 countries agreed on ajoint declaration on the results ofthe summit in New Delhi. However, the statement is not about condemning the war that Russia unleashed against Ukraine. The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry reacted negatively to the final statement of the G20 countries.

US Secretary of State Blinken noted that during the discussion, all G20 leaders expressed the opinion that they want a “just end to the war” in Ukraine.
