The White House once again spoke out against Nord Stream 2. According to White House press secretary Jen Psaki, the US administration will not allow the gas pipeline to be launched if the situation in Ukraine escalates, RIA Novosti reports.

“We do not support Nord Stream 2. We clearly conveyed that we continue to oppose him, believing that this geopolitical project of Russia undermines the national security of a significant part of European countries, ”she said.

US President Joe Biden, speaking to the press after talks with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on February 7, promised to put an end to Nord Stream 2 if Russia invades Ukraine. At the same time, the German leader, although he said that Germany and the United States act in a unified manner, never mentioned the name of the project and did not directly answer a single question about it.
