Security talks between the US and Russia are planned for January.

The United States and Russia are continuing their dialogue at the diplomatic level on the Kremlin’s demands for “security guarantees”; negotiations on this issue may take place as early as January 2022. One of the Russian ultimatums in the White House is categorically rejected.

This was announced by the press secretary of the White House Jen Psaki during a briefing on Thursday, December 23.

“We are working on diplomatic negotiations. We would agree to some of the Russians' proposals, but definitely not to some. [Requirements for] NATO is a good example, “said Psaki.

She stressed that the only aggression taking place on the Russian-Ukrainian border is a military buildup by Russia.

Security talks between the US and Russia are scheduled for January, but the exact date and place of the meeting has not yet been determined.

“There is no final agreement on the place and time,” said the White House speaker.

Recall that earlier NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that he would initiate a dialogue with the Kremlin on European security in early 2022 in the format of a Russia-NATO Council meeting.
